Resumen:
Ethanol production is motivated by the use of renewable energy. A MINLP model is developed for the design of a bioethanol Supply Chain (SC) with 4 echelons: sugar plants that supply raw materials, plants that produce ethanol and yeast for cattle feed, warehouses, and customers. Facilities installation, production and distribution among the different echelons are problem decisions. A detailed model of ethanol plants is embedded in the SC model. Costs and environmental impact are minimized.
