Resumen:
Optical breakdown in tridistilled water drops, with and without suspended gold nanoparticles on it, was studied by time resolved optical emission spectroscopy, photoacoustic technique and by analyzing the transmittance of the laser pulse energy. For the experiments, the size of the drops was varied. Breakdown was induced by Nd:YAG laser pulses of 10 ns with energy of 100 mJ and duration of 10ns, with two different wavelengths, 532 nm and 1064 nm. In all cases, we found that the presence of nanoparticles reduces the probability of plasma formation. In the particular case of ablation of tridistilled drops without the presence of gold nanoparticles, a decrease in the size of the drops favors the absorption of the laser pulse energy, thus increasing the intensity emitted by the plasma.
