Resumen:
Seven times ionized xenon belongs to the isoelectronic sequence of Ag I. The study of the atomic structure of this ion is very important in different fields of physics, as in astrophysics and plasma physics. In this paper, core excited configurations 4d95s5d, 4d9 5p2 and 4d95s5p of Xe VIII were studied using experimental data obtained in the CIOp. Theoretical calculations using Relativistic Hartree Fock (HFR) method and matrix diagonalization for the determination of different atomic parameters were performed. Core-valence correlation effects were studied. Multiconfiguration configurations considered in the approximation were 4d10ns, nd, ng (n=5-10), 4d10 ni (n=7-10), 4d95s5d, 4d95p2 (even parity) and 4d10 np (n = 5-10 ), 4d10 nf (n = 4-10), 4d10 nh (n = 6-10), 4d10 nk (n = 8-10), 4d95s5p, 4d94f5s, 4d95p5d (odd parity).
