Resumen:
3D image recording has gained an increasing impact on the field of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. 3D images have a variety of applications, from the simple recording and documentation of the object, to the dissemination of the collections, going through the documentation of condition, deterioration, dimensions and packaging designing. The most commonly used techniques are laser or structured light scanning and, increasingly, close range digital photogrammetry. In this paper the advantages and possibilities of these techniques for recording and documentation of heritage objects are compared. Different free and low cost software that can be used by these techniques are analyzed, and also the quality of the results obtained in each case is discussed.
