Resumen:
Sampling rate determination and frequency content for a wave propagating in a turbulent media are still unsettled experimental problems. Many papers about estimating properties of the optical turbulence seem to use an ad hoc assumption that the sampling frequency used is enough to perform a proper measurement. On the other hand, other authors estimate the optimal sampling rate via fast Fourier transform (FFT), defining a cut-off frequency with an arbitrary criterion. The aim of this paper is to propose an alternative way to determine a proper sampling rate prevent any loss of information and, at the same time, to avoid oversampling by means of the discrete wavelet transform.
