Resumen:
Morphogen distributions are classically modeled assuming mechanisms of reaction and diffusion. These reaction-diffusion models usually assume infinite spatial domains. Since tissues clearly do not have infinite sizes, an important question would be how this assumption affects the spatiotemporal morphogen distribution. We study a mathematical model given by a one-dimension partial differential equation (PDE). In particular, we analytically investigate a model encoding a mechanism of reaction and diffusion in a finite domain and compare it with the classical model involving reaction and diffusion in an infinite domain.
