Resumen:
<!--@page { margin: 0.79in }P { margin-bottom: 0.08in }-->When physical systems are confined in a thin film geometry, their properties and the resulting ordering maybe severely affected by boundary effects due to the confining walls e.g., ferromagnets that undergo the transition to the paramagnetic phase, fluids that undergo the vapor-liquid transition, and solid or liquid binary mixtures undergoing phase separation near their critical points. Also, the interaction between the confined material and the walls may lead to the observation of a rich variety of physical phenomena such as wetting, capillary condensation, thin film growth, epitaxy, interface roughening, etc. Within this broad context, the aim of the talk is to give a brief overview of recent results obtained upon a systematic study of the wetting properties of magnetic films confined in film geometries and in the presence of non-magnetic impurities.
