Resumen:
GABAB receptors modulate radial migration and axon/dendrite growth and specification in cortical pyramidal neurons in vivo. We have recently found that GABAB receptors manipulations lead to an overall increased excitability of the transfected cortex (Bony, Contestabile, Montani, Cancedda 2011). The Field-potential recordings of GABAB siRNA-transfected slices revealed increased basal and induced neuronal-network activity. Thus, GABABRs during development promote neuronal migration and morphological maturation by cAMP-dependent axon/dendrite specification, leading to cortical circuit rearrangement. In this work we use an Information Theoretical approach to investigate the significance of GABAB on cortical development using field potential neurophysiologic recordings, we investigate which frequency bands play a crucial role in the rhythmic activity patterns in the SiRNA2 tissue in comparison with the normal (control) one. This allows us to investigate the role of the intrinsic oscillations within the GABAB transfected slices in the processing of information.
