Resumen:
We show how the Möebius energy of knots theory, due to Freedman, He and Wang, may be applied to analyze properties of the free energy of statistical mechanics models. We modify the definition of the energy of a curve, given by the mentioned authors by one which involves “many particles” confined on the curve. We also consider more general interaction potentials than the mentioned theory for establishing some properties of the free energy.
