Resumen:
Expanding HII regions have a huge impact on the morphology and dynamics of the surrounding interstellar medium. The star formation history in their environs is also affected by the influence of these regions. In this work, based on a multiwavelength study, we analyze the interstellar medium around the HII regions Sh2165and Sh2166.Both HII regions are located at about 23kpc, in the Perseus spiral arm, and are clearly detected in the optical and radio continuum images. They are partially bordered by photodissociation regions and molecular gas. Using infrared point source catalogs (IRAS, MSX and 2MASS) we searched for young stellar object (YSO) candidates. We found an extensive ongoing star formation in both regions. On the other hand, given that Sh2165and Sh2166are located in the edge of the large HI shell created by the OB association Cas OB5, we analyzed the possible connection between the different structures.
