Resumen:
With the aim to study in detail the spatial distribution of the physical and chemical properties of the SNR G306.3?0.9, we report on a combinedXMM-Newton and Chandra morphological analysis and a detailed spatially resolved spectral analysis of different regions of the remnant. Spitzerobservations, available in the archive, are also used to constrain the progenitor supernova and to study the environment where the SNR evolved. The X-ray morphology of the SNR displays a non-uniform structure of semi-circular appearance, with a bright southwest region and very weakor almost negligible emission on its northern part. These results indicate that the SNR is propagating in a non-uniform environment as theshock front is encountering a high density medium, where enhanced infrared emission is also detected. Abundances found in the central region of the SNR and a morphological analysis of global anisotropies of its infrared and X-ray emission favour a type-Ia progenitor for this young metal-rich SNR.
