Resumen:
Current oral administration of ciprofloxacin antibiotic is commonly
associated to gastric and intestinal issues. Besides, ciprofloxacin has
tendency to stacking with reduced biodisponibility. Encapsulation of
the antibiotic on biogels, like alginates, is an alternative for oral
delivery. However, ciprofloxacin encapsulation on alginate (2.0 %)
microspheres (600 μm diameter) yield is about 46 % under
physiological aqueous conditions. Alternatively, biocompatible
miscible organic aqueous (O-A) solvent mixtures can increase the
encapsulation considering the low solubility of the drug.
1,2 polypropilenglycol and High Methoxyl degree pectin were tested
to delay ciprofloxacin release under simulated gastric fluid (pH=1.2)
and to increase the drug liberation at the intestinal simulated fluid
(pH=7,4).
