Resumen:
During the last decades the synthesis of nanoparticles has been reported expansively because new applications on research and industry were found. Different types of mechanistic synthesis of nanoparticles from metallic, polymeric, and hybrid materials are currently on development. The use of diverse biological materials such as plants, and many microbes to synthesize nanoparticles has been described. However, two main avenues for nanoparticles synthesis: cell-free extract and cell cultivation have been reported. The state of art of both biotechnological approaches for different type nanoparticles are reviewed in the present work(*).(*) Special issue on Process Biochemistry dedicated to Dr. Rodolfo Ertola
