Resumen:
Abstract: Zirconia materials are widely used due to its very good thermomechanical properties. The monoclinic phase is only stable at room temperature but it is possible to achieve stabilization of the tetragonal and cubic phases by doping with cations (Y+3, Ca+2, Mg+2, etc.). The effects of different factors in both forming and sintering are the key to define properties of this material. In this work the sintering process is characterized by calculating the activation energy and the sintering mechanism for the early stages from density measurement at different residence times at a constant temperature. The effect of yttria content is analyzed.
