Resumen:
Polymers biodeterioration depends on itscomposition and physicochemical characteristics, where small variations in thechemical structure can result in big differences in terms of biodegradability. The aim of this work is to study the microbial degradation of polyurethane/acrylic hybrid systems hybridsystems. The extent of changes observed in hybrid films by the microbial deterioration are related directly with DEA proportion in the polymer and they differ with those observed in PU film suggesting a different polymer degradationmechanism. PU deterioration begin bythe breakdown of the polymer backbone and formation of urea groups, while inthe hybrid systems it begin with the rupture of C-N bond ofthe amino group followed by the scission of this  group from the DEA moiety.
