Resumen:
Itis known that glucocorticoids (GC) have different effects on white adiposetissue (WAT) and inhibit brown adipose tissue (BAT) thermogenesis; however, itremains unclear how GC affect the thermogenic process in different WAT depots. Ouraim was to study, in a hypercorticosteronemic rat model, the thermogenicactivity in subcutaneous inguinal and epididymal WAT pads (scWAT and eWAT,respectively). For this aim, male S-D rats neonatally-treated with monosodiumL-glutamate (MSG) were used. A subgroup of prepubertal 30 day-old male CTR andMSG rats were exposed to cold (4°C) during 7 days. MSG and litter-mate CTR scWATand eWAT pads were dissected, weighed and processed for mRNA (qPCR) and proteinanalysis (western blot). Data were analyzed by Two-way ANOVA.
