Resumen:
The lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) controls feeding, energy balance, motivated behavior, among other functions.LHA expresses high levels of the ghrelin receptor (or, growth hormone secretagogue receptor, GHSR). Ghrelin is astomach-derived peptide that regulates diverse metabolic functions exclusively via GHSR. Here, we characterizedthe GHSR expressing neurons of the LHA (hereafter named GHSR-LHA neurons) using a mouse model, in which theexpression of enhanced green fluorescent protein is controlled by the GHSR promoter (GHSR-eGFP mice).
