Resumen:
Our group is conducting research on population genetics of Argentines populations. Our work is focuses on uniparental markers as mt DNA and Y chromosome what permit us to survey of genetic diversity in Native and admixed populations. We also are interested in the genetic analysis of genetics variants of some pharmacogenes. We have observed that the genetic diversity of these genes tends to be different among populations from different regions of Argentina, some of this patterns seems to be caused by the heterogeneous effects of the genetic admixture. In some other cases we can not discarded the effect of the genetic drift. For all expressed, we need to be extremely cautious when we intent to identify genetic susceptibility factors in complex disorders. I really hope that the course should be very benefit for my research, due the close relation of the topics that will be covered and my present project.
