Resumen:
Knowledge about the vulnerabilities of Argentine adolescents who commit crimes would be a useful input for the design of rehabilitation programs. The objective of this research is to describe the socio-family and psychological dimensions of young men who committed crimes. To this end, 500 young people interned by judicial order were evaluated in the Provincial Youth and Family Agency of the Ministry of Social Development of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition to the protocols built ad hoc, various instruments were used: Psycosocial Maturity Inventory; Consideration of Future Consequences Scale; Weimberg Adjustment Inventory; Barrat Impulsive Scale; Resistance of Peer Influences; Inventory Callous Unemotional for Teachers; Psychopathy Check List Youth Version. It was found that the average age of criminal initiation was 14 years and for the substance use of 13.5 years. 21% had incomplete primary schooling. 15.2% reported that their parents abused alcohol, 24.8% had bullet wounds and 14.2% scars from self-harm. As for the outcome of the instruments, high scores of impulsivity, psychopathic traits, and high value were obtained in the sum of behavioral disorders. In general, the studied population presents multiple vulnerabilities that are potential targets of rehabilitative interventions.
