Resumen:
Middle Devonian Achalian granitoids intruded the Eastern Sierras Pampeanas (ESP) basement ca. 600 km east of the inferred proto-Pacific margin of Gondwana margin along which a coeval crustal thickening event was recognized. In Sierra de San Luis voluminous Middle Devonian (393-385 Ma) batholiths are made up by an I- to A-type hybrid monzonite–granite suite. The monzonite suite is composed of shoshonitic metaluminous magnesian alkali-calcic to alkalic porphyritic to equigranular monzodiorite, monzonite, quartz monzonite and monzogranite. The granite suite is composed of shoshonitic and high-K series granitoids which are mildly peraluminous equigranular magnesian alkali-calcic monzogranite and equigranular leucomonzogranites. The Sr–Nd isotopic composition of the monzonites and shoshonitic granites suggest the involvement of continental crustal components in a lithospheric mantle sources.
