Resumen:
Whole rock geochemical analyses using major and trace elements, Sm-Nd and Pb-Pb isotope systems- together with SHRIMP dating on metasedimentary rocks from the Sierra de Chepes, the Sierras de Córdoba, the Sierra Norte and the San Luis Formation in the Sierra de San Luis, have been carried out to unravel the provenance and geodynamic history of the Eastern Sierras Pampeanas. The metaclastic rocks of the Sierras de Córdoba show less recycling and probably a stronger imprint of an oceanic island arc as the source for the metasediments, whereas the Sierras de Chepes and the Sierra Norte metaclastic rocks point to an active continental margin or a continental island arc derived sources. Chemical results for the Sierras de Córdoba are comparable to those obtained for  the Conlara Metamorphic Complex, whereas the Sierras de Chepes and the Sierra Norte metaclastic rocks seem to have similarities to the other metamorphic domains of the Sierra de San Luis and  Puncoviscana Formation
