Resumen:
The parameters of shape of a watershed are of interest ingeomorphological and hydrological analysis because they affectthe water amount entering in a system by precipitation, themagnitude of the flows, the time of concentration, etc. Theaverage slope of a basin has an important relationship withinfiltration, surface runoff, soil moisture and groundwatercontribution to stream flow. La Ballenera catchment is locatedin the interserrana plain to the southeast in the Buenos Airesprovince. In this catchment, the average value of the topographic slope is 0.6%. This feature allows the evaporation and infiltration processes become dominant and to behave asregulatory dynamics elements of surface and groundwater. The maps were made by a Digital Terrain Model showinggeomorphological and slopes features. Therefore, it was identified environments, systems, units and elements. Geology andgeomorphology controlled the hydrodynamic behavior of the system. The distribution of piezometric lines shows somepermeability homogeneity of the aquifer and a winning behavior of the stream. The characterization of these "geomorphologicalparameters" is the basis for comprehensive knowledge of the hydrogeological- hydrological system and its application in solvingdiverse problems such as flooding, pollution and mapping of risk and vulnerability.
