Resumen:
We evaluated the use of peanut husk ashes obtained at laboratory conditions, used as percentage of binder material for cement mortars. Ashes were prepared in different conditions, and its characterization included F-RX, D-RX, SEM, particle size distribution. Mortars were prepared replacing a 15% of cement with ashes, with a rate 1:3 (cement: sand) and water/cement ratio of 0.5. The compression strength was evaluated at 7, 14, 28, 60, 90 and 120 days according to IRAM 1622:2002. The compression strength was higher than 80% respect to the reference after 28 days. We propose further studied upon this material supplementary material for Portland cement, with the associated advantage of become in a potential inhibitor for Alkali-aggregate reaction, which could take place in mortars made using stony aggregates from Cordoba?s hills, Argentina, due to its high content of amorphized sílica
