Resumen:
Abstract In the framework of scientific-technological development, an alternative viable vision in the production of habitat is posed, one that is able to progressively and integrally revert the situation of extreme poverty borne by Latin American cities.. The document is divided into three parts. The first presents the problem: world-wide poverty. The second poses solutions from ideological, theoretical-conceptual and methodological viewpoints. The resources used, theoretical and technological models, are summarised and presented separately in two specific, differentiated examples. The first of these is a tool for reconstructing complex procedures based on practices that have been carried out and for reproducing them by means of improved experiences. The second, the result of a doctoral thesis, a tool enabling prior tests in the process of designing a model in an on-line simulation. The common denominator of these solutions highlights how reproducible and appropriable contributions (with their corresponding feedback) can be created by generating alternative technological tools in order to alleviate the huge existing housing deficit. Finally, a third part includes comments, conclusions and perspectives that these new models open up within the framework of truly sustainable development.
