Resumen:
The copepod Eurytemora americana is a potential bioindicator of pollution since it usually lives in environments with anthropogenic impacts. However, bioavailable contaminants could affect the reproduction and survival of this species. The present study shows preliminary results of laboratoryexperiments addressing the effects of a sewage effluent on E. americana fecundity and survival. The study was carried out with cultured females, incubated under different water qualities and controlled conditions during ten days (7±2°C, 14 h light, 32±2 salinity and Tetraselmis sp. + Nannochloropsis sp. as daily food). For assessing the effect of different water qualities, fourtreatments (5 replicates each) were established: P= surface plume water from 100 m of the discharge area within the Bahía Blanca Estuary-Argentina, D= P
