Resumen:
Plantation forestry with Salix sp. and Populus sp. is the principal economic activity of the the Paraná River Delta Region, Argentina. The aim of this study is to evaluate the capability of Tasseled Cap transformation of Landsat ETM+ data to distinguish beetween different –aged forest stands of Salix babylonica var. Sacramento in this region. In order to achieve this objective, linear regression model was constructed relating tasseled cap data with age. February wetness was the band that better fitted. The highest Expected-predicted error was 3.84 years, and the average error was 1.32, showing the potencial utility of the tasseled cap to monitor different –aged forest stands of this species.
