Histamine (HIS) plays a key role in inflammation and allergy, actingthrough four G-protein coupled receptors (H1R-H4R). Previously,we proved that HIS acting on dendritic cells (DCs) enhancescross-presentation of the soluble antigen ovalbumin (OVA). Here,we analyzed the intracellular mechanisms involved in the modulationof DCs functionality by HIS. We used immature murine DCsobtained from bone-marrow precursors of C57BL/ 6 mice culturedfor nine days with GM-CSF. DCs were incubated with HIS (1μM,DC-HIS) or not (DC-Ct) for 20 min at 37°C.
