Resumen:
Most murine tumors of spontaneous origin display no evidence ofimmunogenicity, a feature putatively shared with many humantumors. This statement may have therapeutic consequences, sincethe trait ?undetectable immunogenicity? has been invoked toexplain the numerous unsuccessful immunologic therapies againstestablished tumors. Herein, using three murine tumors exhibitingundetectable immunogenicity called CEI, C7HI and LB, we haveinvestigated whether that feature can be attributed to absence oftumor antigens or to the existence of tolerogenic mechanisms thatprevent such antigens from initiating an antitumor immuneresponse (IR).
