In sepsis caused by Gram negatives, lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are associated to the immunosuppression (IS), the main cause of death. Numerous agents such as the IL-10 have been proposed as immunosuppressant. We have shown that even in IL-10 deficient BALB/c mice (KO) it was possible to establish a humoral IS similar to the wild type (WT). The aim of this work was to evaluate the role of IL-10 on the innate immunity alterations observed in LPS induced IS, done through cytometric and morphologic studies. First we determined the leukocyte number in peritoneum and peripheral blood (PB) after IS.
