L-Dopa plus peripheral inhibitors of aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase(AADC) is the treatment intended to alleviate the motor symptoms ofParkinson?s disease (PD). However, in patients this chronic treatment has beendescribed to alter the secretion of ACTH, probably generating an inadequateneuroendocrine stress response. In the present research, we aimed tounderstand the actions of L-Dopa in the corticotroph function.
