Resumen:
Tumors from the MPA-induced murine mammary carcinoma model (MMCM) are sensitive to antiprogestins and regress after mifepristone (MFP) treatment (Lanari et al., 2009). During this process there is a concurrence of different cell types into the tumor stroma (Vanzulli et al., 2002). We have recently generated a murine model using Nod-SCID-gamma (NSG) mice and Bone Marrow (BM) from BALB/c-GFP mice to obtain NSG/BM-GFP which allows us to study the role of the immune system in this kind of endocrine tumor regression. The goal of this study was to investigate the stromal BM-derived cell?s behavior during the endocrine regression, DAMPs (Danger Molecular Patterns) exposure, cytokines present in the tumor microenvironment after MFP treatment, and determine if the antiprogestin treatment generates a protective memory against a tumor re-challenge.
