In this presentation the cardiovascular side effects of antipsychotic medication will be reviewed. In particular, incidence, underlying mechanisms, clinical symptoms and management of hypotension, changes in heart rate and ECG, myocarditis and metabolic changes will be discussed in the light of clinical benefit obtained with antipsychotic treatment.
