Resumen:
Current medical therapies available for endometriosis (EDT) result inefficient due to their long term side effects. Natural compounds are being investigated because of their potential beneficial properties on cancer and EDT. Wogonin (WG) is a flavonoid isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis root. Carnosic Acid (CA) and Rosmarinic Acid (RA) are antioxidant compounds found in Rosmarinus officinallis leaves. Our previous studies demonstrated that these compounds inhibit endometrial stromal cell proliferation. Also, it is known that mast cells contribute to chronic pain in many pathological conditions, including EDT. Our aim was to evaluate the effect of WG, CA and RA on cell cycle progression in human endometrial stromal cell line (t-HESC) and human mast cell line (HMC1.1). T-HESC cells were incubated with WG (0;40;80µM), CA (0;2.5;5µg/ml) or RA (0;50;100µg/ml) for 48hs. Cell cycle distribution was assessed by flow cytometry. WG 40µM and CA 2.5µg/ml decreased the percentage of T-HESC cells in G0/G1 and increased the percentage of cells in G2/M phase (p
