Resumen:
In the last years, the activity of the naphthoquinones, as for instance, â-lapachone analogues has been studied. However, nor-lapachones, the inferior homologue of the â-lapachones, also have been showed important antitumoral activity. In a program for obtaining naphthoquinones (NQs) more potent against cancer cell lines, we prepared new compounds from 2-Allyl-3-hydroxy-[1,4]naphthoquinone. The substances NPPN-3223, NPPN-3222 and NPPN-3226 were actives against Trypanosoma Cruzi, the etiologic agent of the Chagas’ disease. Herein, the antitumoral activities of these substances against Lymphoma T Murine EL-4 and the normal cells Lymphocytes T normals (LTN) were evaluated. NFQs are capable of inhibiting the proliferation of EL-4 and normal T cell at a concentration of 2 μM and 5 μM, respectively. Cell viability was decreased in both cellular types by induction of apoptosis. NFQs disminish the cellular content of reduced glutathione in EL-4 cells. The NFQs exert cytotoxic activity on EL-4 and LTN cells. These studies may help design drugs with selective toxicity allowing inhibit proliferation of tumor cells without affecting normal T cells.
