Resumen:
We have earlier showed that systemic lipopolysaccharide (LPS) protects against hypoxia-ischemia (HI) induced injury when given to 8 days rats 24 h before the HI whereas it sensitize the brain to HI 72 h after LPS (Wang et al., 2007). The sensitization was blocked by administration of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) showing that oxidative stress was involved.
