Resumen:
The present study was designed to investigate the effect of unilateral low-frequency stimulation (LFS) of hipocampal on seizure development induced by hipocampal kindling in rats, model of complex partial epilepsy. LFS-induced decrease in kindling rate was predominantly due to the animals in the LFS groups remaining longer in stages 0–3 (P<0.05). These findings may provide a new insight into establishing an effective and long-lasting therapy for seizure prone people.
