Resumen:
Intonational Grammar in Ibero-Romance. Approaches across linguistic subfields gatherscutting-edge empirical research papers on Ibero-Romance intonation from theperspectives of an array of subfields in linguistics, including acquisition, languagecontact, pragmatics, syntax, and sociophonetics. A very suitable fit in the Issues inHispanic and Lusophone Linguistics series (Series Editors: Jason Rothman & Jennifer Cabrelli Amaro), this volume has two main objectives. First, to present and discuss themost up-to-date data elicitation and data analysis techniques currently used in intonationresearch, especially in light of the latest laboratory phonology paradigm advances(Pierrehumbert, Beckman & Ladd 2000; Pierrehumbert & Clopper 2010; Cohn, Fougeron& Huffman 2012). Second, to provide Romance linguistics scholars with a wealth ofinterdisciplinary research questions in the field of Ibero-Romance intonation. The issuesexplored range from the acquisition of prosody, the role of L1 intonational transfer inlanguage contact, the nature and meaning of intonational contours, and the relationbetween accents, visual information and pragmatic prominence.
