Resumen:
With interest we read the paper entitled ?Experimen-tal, Controversial, and Futuristic Treatments for ChronicTinnitus? (Folmer et al, 2014). The authors state that thearticle is not meant to be an exhaustive review but that?the article reflects the authors? professional biases andprerogatives.? This is a very correct and realistic ap-proach because today there are no available treatmentsfor tinnitus that are not experimental, controversial, andfuturistic, if evidence-based medicine is considered asthe golden standard for making the distinction betweenestablished, noncontroversial, generally accepted treat-ments and ?experimental, controversial, and futuristicapproaches.?
