Resumen:
The P-ATpases are molecular pumps that use the energy of ATP to build up electrochemical gradients and are vital to all aukaryotes and most prokaryotes. During the transporte cycle they engage in rather  extensive structural rearrangements that involve forming and splitting a covalent phosphoenzyme intermediate coupled to changes in the transmembrane section where the ions are translocated.
