Título:
EVALUATION OF PSARK::IPT CONSTRUCTION IN WHEAT ROOT UNDER CADMIUM STRESS
Reunión:

Resumen:
The inducible overexpression of isopentenyltransferase (IPT), an enzyme involved in cytokinins biosynthesis, promotes acclimatization to abioticstress. The aim of this work was to evaluate the PSARK::IPT construction in root growth under cadmium stress in Triticum aestivum L. The root elongation ofTR4 was less affected by Cd. The metal produced shortening of the distance from the quiescent center (QC) to the limit of the zone of cellular elongation /differentiation (ZT) in PIF, while the effect was inverse in TR4. Expansins transcripts: TaEXPA6,TaEXPA8, TaEXPB8 and TaEXPB10 increase in the apex of TR4 vs.PIF and in the presence of Cd in both lines. The hormonal profile showed a significant increase of JAIlle in TR4, ABA in PIFCd and AIA in TR4Cd. These resultsprovide insight on homeostatic adjustment in the wheat root which drives root elongation of TR4 during abiotic stress.
