Introduction: Lactate dehydrogenase elevating virus (LDV) is apersistent and non pathogenic RNA arterivirus that induces NK, macrophagesand B- cell activation in mice. It was found that LDV-infectionmodified Ab specificity to different antigens. This effect wascorrelated with the release of various cytokines after viral infection.Objectives: The purpose of this work was to explore the role ofinterleukin 17A (IL-17A) on the changes of Ab specificities.Methods: C57BL/6 mice were inoculated subcutaneously with 25μg of OVA emulsified in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and CompleteFreund?s Adjuvant. At day 15, the mice were boosted with theAg in Incomplete Freund?s Adjuvant. At days 4, 7 and 11, half of theanimals were inoculated intraperitoneally with 150 μg of anti-IL-17AMAb (MM17F3) in 200 μl of PBS. Another mouse group were treatedas before but infected with 2×107 50% infectious doses of LDVin saline at day -1. Bleeding was performed at days 8, 21, and 30.Serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was determined enzymatically.The titer of Ab anti-OVA was determinated by ELISA, whereas theproportion of Ab directed to native OVA epitopes was calculated byELISA competition assays.Results: MAb to IL-17A decreased the plasmatic LDH levels inducedby LDV (3668±547 and 2900±175 U/L, for control and MAbtreated mice, respectively, P
