Resumen:
Abstract. NEW SPECIES OF BAIEROXYLON GREGUSS AND CIRCOPOROXYLON KRÄUSEL (CRETACEOUS), NEUQUÉN PROVINCE, ARGENTINA. The fossil woods are abundant in cretaceous deposits of Neuquén province, however they never have been studied in detail, the description of axes permineralized of Tempskya dernbachii is only known. In this work were studied gymnosperm woods of Neuquén province for the first time. The analysis of xylem characters allowed to distinguish two new species: Baieroxylon patagonicum nov. sp. from the El Mangrullo (Rayoso Formation) and Circoporoxylon kräuseli nov. sp. from Cerros Colorados (Huincul Formation). These two new species are an important contribution in knowledge of xyloflorisctic composition for the Cretaceous period in the area studied. Also, by analysis of elements in secondary xylem, could infer environmental conditions in those that species grew.
