Resumen:
The sands of the Atlantic coast of Tierra del Fuego beaches are characterized by the presence of heavy minerals including gold mined throughout history. The canyons Beta and Tortugas have rich minerals levels composed mainly magnetite, garnets, ilmenite and pyroxene, and gold is associated to them. The distribution and abundance of these beds is related to the action of stream current. The abundant of ilmenite and garnet indicate a possible potential of these deposits as titanium ore or abrasive.
