Resumen:
This paper evaluates assembly understory species in pure and mixed forests of N. pumilio (L) and N. betuloides (G), on the Andes and Beagle Channel coast. At each site 10 transects were established to evaluate richness and cover of vascular and nonvascular plantas through the intersection point method. Of 46 species recorded, 70% were shared by L and G. Mountain forests had higher species richness than coastal. Coverage of Monocotyledons and dicotyledons was higher in mountain and ferns in coastal. We conclude that the type of environment influences in the diversity of species.
