Resumen:
The aim of this paper is to propose a conceptual and a methodological framework addressed to production-consumption interplay in order to highlight the complex nature of the technological sphere. From our concern, this duality holds the clues not only to attain a full understanding of the economic organization of a given society but it is also crucial to explore important issues of social life such as technological innovations, identity, conflicts, symbolic agency and social changes. This presentation will unfold in two parts. In the first section we discuss the concept consumption and we relate it to lithic technology, in the second part we provide an example to illustrate this approach.
