Wildfires in Tierra del Fuego (southern Argentina) have had devastating impacts on native Nothofagus forests: tree regeneration post-fire has been sparse and restoration plantings have lacked scientific support. A deeper understanding of the impacts of wildfire is essential to restoring the region’s forests. During the summer of 2021-2022, we established 192 plots in burned and unburned areas to determine the impacts of biophysical variables on post-fire Nothofagus tree regeneration.
