Resumen:
This paper demonstrates exploratory research carried out in the shell-midden context ofLanashuaia I from the Beagle Channel (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina), a dwelling of the Yamana hunter-fisher-gatherer group. The aim of this pilot study has been to outline a method for the recovery of different types of residues from lithics. Field sampling methodology and laboratory procedures are discussed. Different techniques, such as use-wear and phytolith analyses, and tests for the identification of blood residues have been applied to an assemblage of 34 lithic artifacts.
