Resumen:
This paper has as its main objective to present some thoughts of what has been labelled as household archaeology as well as to discuss its possible applicability to hunter-gatherer contexts. So, one of the goals is to assess the reaches and limitations of this approach, putting forward some ideas of an alternative framework for the analysis of the production and consumption processes in a society. Within this general outline, we will briefly present the methodology employed in the current research in development on the northern coast of the Beagle Channel (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina) on a typical hunter-gatherer Yamana  site. This society inhabited the southernmost extreme of Tierra del Fuego until its social disappearance at the beginning of the 20th century.
