Resumen:
The current chapter presents a review of all echinoderm knowledge at the present time regarding published papers and meetings, Licenciate and PhD thesis dealing with the Phylum from Argentina. It is noticed that several studies on Antarctic echinoderm fauna are beyond the scope of the authors, restricting the chapter to the Argentine Sea (from the Río de la Plata to Tierra del Fuego and Malvinas Islands).Remains outside of this chapter current PhD projects and soon to be published data about chemical, biological, ecological and taxonomical research conducted by the authors and other colleagues. The appendices file with information about depth range, habitat and taxonomic account of the species is limited to published information, yet when for some groups (i.e. Asteroidea, Ophiuroidea, Holothuroidea) the taxonomic status is need to be reviewed.
