It is in this previous frame that it becomes necessary to announce to the PASADO Microfossil community the methodologies that are applied in the phytolith analysis and the possibilities of paleobotanical and paleoenvironmental reconstruction that offer these studies. The phytoliths of the Potrok Aike Lake sedimentary sequence are studied jointly by two research groups: Diamante and Mar del Plata. The present communication results from the protocol that the Diamante group implement in the treatment and study of these samples, being also the intention to coordinate these methodologies to achieve one common protocol in both groups.
